I was blessed being invited to a remote aboriginal community 2 hours from Cooktown in Tropical North Queensland (Australia). This small and wonderful mob is an alcohol and drug free community setting an example for other communities. The land has been given back to its indigenous caretakers. The journey there is by 4WD only and it was only possible because it was the dry season. During the wet season it is very difficult to get in or out of this land as there are many creeks to go through, and I mean through – not over! No bridges up that way!

On arrival to the land my friend, who is one of the traditional owners of the Land performed a small welcome ceremony. He called to the Spirit of the Land to say that he had brought me here and that I was a friend and to welcome me to the land and keep me protected. He told me the Land is the boss! “Land gets to decide who stays”.

I then travelled over many more creeks into the scrub and rainforest country. On this land I experienced the power of nature like never before. I became one with the Earth. I could feel her heartbeat as I slept on the Earth. I bathed in the pure flowing creeks. The dingoes howled outside my tent during the night. I watched in amazement a spectacular show of the lights in the heavenly galaxy every night. I visited sacred sites and was shown bush tucker and the most powerful experience was my initiation with a rock. Life will never be the same again!

Feng Shui is more than the commercial side of what most people know. It certainly does not limit itself to putting coins under the doormat to attract luck. Feng Shui is about connecting with the Land, the Devas and the Elementals too! Embracing the essences of the 5 elements is what every Feng Shui Practitioner need to truly learn in depth to be able to recommend the right amount of element balancing for their clients. This means how much Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water inside a house need to appear with colours, finishes and textures based on people’s characteristics and in respect of the Ba gua grid. To do this, spending time in Nature and in the Bush is essential, it is there that we learn the best!

When I was on the Land with the Kuku Yalanji, I explained how I read the place where my friend was living. The line where the ants were running was explaining what was happpening in his life at the time, the location of the bubbling creek was there to bring him luck. Moreover, interestingly, across his place was a special vortex that seem helping people de-toxing from alcohol. I certainly spent a week there without feeling any alcohol craving (I was an average drinker then)… and amazingly, I have not touched a drop of alcohol ever since – that was in 2008!

Living my Feng Shui life has certainly seen me change and shift from what I learnt from my culture and family. I am so grateful being open to new cultures and other ways of living in synergy with Mother Nature.

This community is very willing to share their knowledge and to take people to visit their area.  Kuku Yalanji people have lived in Buru (China Camp) for thousands of years. In Yalanji language Buru means “bowl”, because Buru country is shaped like a bowl, with the mountains around the rim and the creeks running through the middle. White people first came to Buru about 100 years ago. They found tin at Buru – and for a while there were big mining camps with lots of European and Chinese miners. That’s how Buru got the name China Camp. http://www.fengshuisteps.com/retreat.html

De-clutter right or left?

Hi roseline, I have a question, when you are making room in your cupboards for a relationship is there a particular side of the cupboard you should clear e.g. left or right side, or it doesn’t matter which side. Thank you

Dear Reader,

Left side is usually the ‘feminine’ side while the ‘right’ side is the masculine one. Then comes the question, where is the left and where is the right side, where do we position ourselves?

Let’s make it simple! You choose which side is the one that you are ready to empty based on your intuitive placement of left and right – the most important part of this de-cluttering process is your positive intent to welcome someone special into your life! So… did you make a small wish list of the person you’d like to meet?

To prepare that list, divide your paper sheet into two columns, the first one is what you offer (your qualities and values), then in the second one you list the qualities and values of your dream companion.

A missing area on your Feng Shui Grid ? There is always a solution!

Dear Roseline,  I am hoping you can help me. In fact I’m sure you can!  First I must say how much I love your newsletters and Facebook status updates, they are so inspiring and knowledgeable, thank you.

The NW direction corresponds in the Black Hat School of Feng Shui to the sector ‘6’ Helpful People & Travels – here represented in the white colour (bottom right of the square aligning your entry to 8-1-6)

I am writing as I have discovered the home I have been living in for almost a year is missing its NW corner. What currently occupies the NW is empty space. A backyard – and an unlandscaped one at that!

I have been Googling and am confused! I’m not sure what the solution or the remedy is. I have read so many different and conflicting things. Obviously the best option is to fill it, however with the design of the house and also cost, we aren’t keen on extending our already quite large house to fill this space.

What is needed to help resolve this issue? A red ribbon in that corner? A horse? A mirror? A light? I’ve read so many different things. I am also quite concerned as my partner is having troubles and may have to LEAVE us. I have three young children, very young, so of course naturally I do not want the head of our family leaving.

Are you able to help me?

My dearest reader, I will answer to you as wisely as possible and give you some insights on how to balance your grid challenge.

1. I follow the Black Hat School of Feng Shui that uses the static grid directions, means for us, the entry is the most important point, it is where Chi enters. You align the side 8-1-6 on the side of your house and your door will be in one of these areas.

2. From what I understand your sector ‘6’ is missing, this means that you might not benefit of as many travels as you’d like or give and receive as much help as you’d need.

3. To rebalance this in your life… you need to add a ‘heavy object’ in your garden

A Heavy Object placed at the intersection of the missing walls will anchor the energies.

a) Since your ‘6’ is in your un-landscaped garden, could you put a large pot with a healthy plant at the intersection of the missing walls (that would complete your Magic Square)?
b) I’d recommend you to have a close look at each sector ‘6’ of your main rooms. Yes, indeed, place this grid onto each room aligning the door you use the most onto 8-1-6. What is in each sector ‘6’ of each of those rooms? It is important that they are each de-cluttered, that lights blubs are in working order, that objects on display are in good condition and make you happy.

As you do not explain what kind of ‘trouble’ your husband is going through for the moment, I can only suggest you to place a lovely photo of you two and a photo of the 5 of you together (I imagnie that you’d have one) next to a vase with fresh flowers. Take care of the flowers regularly.

Let me know how you go. Improvement can happen fast, so remember to place your good intents when you follow what I suggest. Kind regards,

Roseline Deleu, international Feng Shui Master and Consultant http://www.fengshuisteps.com/books_products.html

Last night, I had the pleasure to meet Australian Aboriginal artist Jeremy Geia at the Royal Belgian Embassy in Canberra.  The Belgian Ambassador H.E. Patrick Renault acknowledged the traditional owners as he was opening his speech and speaking highly of Jeremy’s skills as story teller and artist.

Jeremy Geia explained that the meaning of most of his painting were the expression of his Dreaming. Jeremy paintings on display were depicting his ancestors and the different layers of ancestry lines.

Having a special connection with Aboriginals of Tropical North Queensland myself, I am very happy that Jeremy (originaly from Cape York) will soon be sharing his stories and paintings with the Belgian population in Herentals at the “Kasteel Le Paige”. There is so much to learn from his views and respect to his ancestors and lineage.

Listening to Jeremy’s aboriginal views and admiring his work will be a good opportunity to Belgians to re-evaluate their connection with their own line of ancestors. Belgium suffered many invasions and many wars, many families were thorn appart, the land is thus charged with lot of blood, fights, and the egregore of resentment is hovering above the country.

Australia is a fairly ‘new’ invaded country. Aboriginal people have received in February 2008 an appology from Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. Today, they are finally recognised as the traditional ’owners’ of the land – the caretakers. For them, people don’t own the land, the Land owns us! We have so much to learn from the traditional owners, thank you Jeremy Geia for what you share.

Emptiness is the Key

Creating a vacuum offers you the opportunity to welcome something new into your life. De-clutter is the key number 1 in Feng Shui.

The process of emptying cupboards of non-used items, discarding stagnant items in the ever shrinking garage space and clearing out our old fashioned clothes, allows us to look at life differently.

Update for Harmony
It is essential to update displayed photographs with the most recent ones – having pictures of young children in their teenager bedroom could bring challenges in your family life as they could sometimes act like ‘babies’ or… you could still consider them as younger than they truly are, if you wish, you can keep the frames that you already have and simply insert your latest printouts.

Your pictures should be recent ones too, you will enjoy  the age that you have today!

Dispose for Health
Go through your pharmacy and discard all the out-of-date medication. Dispose of the never-to-be-used samples of soap and creams. Keep your side of the vanity as bare as possible and colour-coordinate your soap, shampoo and towels.

Empty for Love – for those of you who are SINGLE
In your master bedroom, make sure that you have two similar bedside tables. To welcome a potential partner in your life, empty the second bedside table, ensure they are located symmetrically on each side of the bed and the bed itself has equal space on each side allowing equal opportunities for both partners. In your wardrobe, empty one shelf and keep a few empty coat hangers in your hanging space. In your bathroom or en-suite: keep one vanity draw empty and display your personal items on one side of the basin only, freeing some space for someone special.

Check what your Mirror is reflecting

The so-called ‘Feng Shui aspirins’, mirrors have to be placed very carefully. When hanging your mirror, look what it actually reflects!

When it reflects clutter -> you are doubling your clutter.
When it reflects an object that makes you feel wealthy -> you will feel even richer!

Reflecting a wall, your mirror will be projecting the whole room into the mirror and creating an optical illusion and an energy extension. It is a law of physics that a mirror creates the depth equal to the observer’s distance from it.

Today, have another look on what your mirrors are reflecting and move them to a better place accordingly.

I am happy to answer your ‘mirror’ questions through this blog!

Feng Shui Power of Changes

I still recall my first experience with Feng Shui, I was amazed at how quickly it worked! I met Roseline Deleu and put some of her Feng Shui advise into practise. I decided to experience it on my relationship as this needed a lot of enhancement.

Looking at the layout of my house I realised that the ‘Love’ area was in the laundry—wow, what a mess no wonder things weren’t going good….So I set to work cleaning it, the window, the cupboard the sink the whole room from top to bottom with the intent to have a happy relationship. This cleaning process took me a good hour and a half. When I finished it sparkeled. Then, I created a collage of happy couples in all sorts of situations (eating, kissing, walking,…) I displayed the collage and added a rose quartz crystal on the laundry shelf.

WITHIN ONE HOUR my daughter’s ex boyfriend, who she had a huge fight with and he was spreading vicious rumours about her, knocked on the door to apologise and asked to be friends.

THE NEXT DAY, my previous boyfriend called me to rekindle our friendship too.

It really blew me away on how quickly and how extensively Feng Shui really shifts the energy and the situation. So… don’t underestimate its power! – Birgit

House SOLD in NO Time

We had been trying to sell our house for over two and half years and after having two contracts fail we were being extremely depressed and disillusioned about the whole process.  I met you a few months before the last contract fell though and after this last sad event, I decided to give you a call to seek professional advice with regard to the Feng Shui presentation of our home.

I cannot speak highly enough of you Roseline, after your visit and making the changes to the interior of our home: we had a solid contact within a matter of days!  You visited on a Monday and we sold on the Thursday it was absolutely fantastic that results manifested in such a short space of time.

I would recommend you to anyone that might be feeling a bit frustrated about the direction life is taking them and are looking for some positive changes – it is really worth it! The whole process proved to be so positive and extremely satisfying on all fronts. I am so grateful for your advice and will seek your help again in the future. –  Gerda G.

Note from Roseline: to sell your house there are many points to take into consideration the first one being that you are ready and at peace with its sale! Have you detached from it and its memories? The placement of your furniture and your decor (photos and paintings) have an influence on the potential buyers. Have a look at your home with ‘the buyers eyes’ and ask yourself if you are attracted to it. Change things accordingly.

Feng Shui after Divorce

How can Feng Shui help you moving on in life after a divorce or a relationship breakup?

Many of you go through challenges in lives more specifically with marriages and relationships. You may be single now and looking into getting in a relationship. Before activating your LOVE sector (Area 2 – see note below*) it is essential to have processed the “why’s” and “how’s” your previous relationship(s) failed.

Your busy life often makes you live in ‘your Reality’ = a virtual world , ‘a Matrix’ that you created based on your stress, fears and previous life experiences. Please understand that the more you are stressed, the less you are aligned; the more you focus on fears, the more you attract them; the more you understand your patterns, the better you can correct them, the happier you become!Incorporate relaxation times in your lives, also allow you to release your fears and clear your patterns and objects reminding you of sad or frustrating memories. Here are a few Feng Shui tips to keep you going:

1. Get rid of what belonged to past failed relationships (including jewelry and photos too)

2. Meditate, it is a good process to bring peace in your mind; at the same time, place a peaceful object in your sector 8.

3. Forgive yourself of what you did, said, experienced during the failed relationship(s). Safely light a candle in your sector 3 for the next 9 evenings with the intent of forgiving your past, enhancing respect for yourself and your previous partner.

I welcome your questions and will happily suggest you more Feng Shui adjustments adapted to your story and needs. Just put a post on this blog, your comment can be an inspiration and encouragement for others!

Dear Roseline,  It’s S.A. here, you did a Feng Shui consultation for my two bedroom apartment last February – with a focus on helping me with my love life!

I’ve been meaning to write to you for some time now, so here is my story.

Well, two months after I saw you, and had made the bulk of the changes, I met my wonderful boyfriend!  It’s a long story, and quite a funny one, but we have seen each other every day since – almost three months now.  It was an instant connection and a strong one.  I’m crazy about him and he calls me about three times a day to tell me how much he loves me.  I know it’s early days, and we’re very excited about our future life together and no matter what the future holds, I’m so happy to be so happy right now!

So thank you for the consultation, it was absolutely worth it! Cheers S.A.

Note from Roseline Deleu: Love is only a few Feng Shui changes away ! It is within your reach. Set your clear intents while adjusting the energies around you and be open to receive who the universe is sending to you into your life. Enjoy the journey.
