How can I attract more Friends and more Clients?

Yes, indeed, that’s a good question! The Feng Shui art of placement can give you a few suggestions 🙂

Apply the Magic Square grid onto your premises and find out where the area corresponding to ‘Friends’ is located. This sector number 6 is usually either on the right hand side of your building in which case you enter into it – or – it is on the right hand side of your main entrance. It can be a room, part of a room or part of a couple of rooms. Just draw the lines onto your home plans without worrying about the walls.

Magic square in colourThis sector ‘6’ is the part of your home that relates to the element of Metal. Which means that for your decor, I would encourage you to choose touches of either grey, silver, gold, copper, or glitter in that room.

Further meaning for this ‘6’ sector is: Friends, Helpers, Clients, Connections, Travels and Movement. Yes this area is indeed very Yang, very active!

To attract new clients, new friends, new connections place a symbol of quantities in that room or on one of its walls.

For example: in your sector ‘6’, display a nice bowl with colourful beads or marbles (= quantities) in which you put your hand daily and mix them with the intent of welcoming new people. Would you ignore or forget about that bowl, it then stays static sadly collecting dust – then it won’t do the job!

Another example: on one of the walls of your ‘6’ area, place a photo or a collage of people walking towards you and see how many people start calling, visiting or connecting with you! It happens fast, you won’t need 9 days to see them appear.

To reconnect with old friends, family or acquaintances (alive or deceased), place a photo of the person next to freshly cut white flowers (symbolising your pure intent) in your sector ‘6’ and you may well hear from them, see them, get an unexpected mail or a phone call within the next few days. Placing the white fresh flower with a peaceful intent is important, this is part of respect. Would you place it with a impure intent, it will have a boomerang effect on you and you don’t really want that!

Now, let’s look into the word ‘Helpers’. It could well have two different meanings: either you are the one helping or you are the one seeking help. In both cases, write your wishes carefully (to help or to being helped) on a nice piece of paper without naming any specific person – that is important! Place that wish list under a round faceted crystal and see what happens.

AltarYou will notice on this colourful Magic Square illustration that your sector ‘6’ includes the idea of ‘Movement’ and ‘Travels’. Movement is life, changes are encouraged – otherwise you feed stagnation and depression. Friends and acquaintances come and go in our lives. We all know the adage “We meet people for a reason, a season or a life time”.

Ready for your next move in life? Take a look at that room occupying sector ‘6’ and de-clutter, change touches of your decor, update photos, get rid of all what you don’t really like anymore.

For those who are ready to travel, display a photo of your favourite destination and you may well be on your way very soon.

Feng Shui helps you to manifest what you wish in life, special experiences, good moments. It is about creating positive emotions TO BE happy not so much TO HAVE money or material possessions. This art of placement is accessible to everyone. I do my best each month to give you some tips and ideas how you can work Feng Shui easily in your home.

I am always happy to read from you, post your comments and question under this post.

Feng Shui – Deceased Estate

I was walking in Yulara (Central Australia) when strangely, a pigeon swept with a loud flapping noise above my head determined to attract my attention. I knew something had happened. It was a clear sign. Deep in my heart, I knew my mother had left. That night, an email followed to confirm. I booked my flights and left for the other side of the world.

When my cousins picked me up at Brussels airport, they had no problem to recognise me as I was the only person coming out of that flight with a small carry-on bag only and wearing winter clothes – it is currently Winter in Australia but mid-Summer in Belgium. The last thing that I was going to worry about was what to wear!

All went as smoothly as possible in those circumstances. Family and friends gathered for the funerals. Then… it was time to deal with mother’s belongings. That is a Titan task. I am sure that those of you who went through this stage still have items they can’t depart. Those who haven’t, probably hope to push this challenging moment as far as possible away in time.

It is a time of total detachment, on all levels.
It is a time of remembering, healing emotions and letting go.

I packed clothes, shoes bedding and gave it all to mancare. Some books went to second hand shop, expensive leather cover encyclopaedias went to recycling as nobody wants those anymore. I “E-bayed” all I could of her beautiful and quality furniture and decor then finished with a garage sale.

I went through all her manicured photo albums and wondered how many hours it took her to prepare such pedagogical tools, after all she was a lifelong teacher. It made me think of how we handled the photos decades ago, then we printed them all, no choice, so we kept most of them even sometimes those that were blurry simply because we paid for the printouts! Nowadays with the digital photos, we have much too many of them. Yes, they take no physical space, only virtual one. How many of you can say that you sort them out only keep those worthwhile?

In my daily life, I de-clutter regularly and I named my Feng Shui photo-trick : “A year in less than 4 minutes”.

Since 2009 each year, I create a yearly small slide show that fits onto the timing of one song – between 3 and 4 minutes. I gather all the good moments I lived during that year. People are happy to watch photos for a few minutes (only) and it is handy to place it on YouTube to share with overseas relatives. That’s all. No need for me to bother anyone with the thousand of photos of my latest trips, no, let’s keep it simple and short – that’s all what people want. I then erase all excess photos and the ‘delete’ button is popular! Your photos are your story, only a few good ones are important to keep for you and your descendants.

feng shui memoriesYou may wonder what I will bring back with me to Australia?
Very little: my baby plate in which I started eating and my first silver cutlery set.

The rest is now gone.
I am free… so is she.
Many blessings, Mum, thank you for everything you did and taught me!

Decor influences your Life

I‘m probably the worst enemy of Storage Places and the best Friend of Artists…

How much do you pay each year to store your material possessions?
Downsizing frees you.
The best option to feel free is to discard what you don’t really need which can be challenging sometimes… Many of you won’t be able to depart of souvenirs, furniture, books… that accumulate in boxes and that end up taking a lot of space and find a comfortable forgotten spot in a storage unit. It is only when you add the yearly cost that you wonder if really you need to keep all that.

To guide you downsizing and de-cluttering, we are going to have a look at what surrounds you and how subtly – the presence of certain objects, photos or art work – influence your daily thoughts and life.

Roseline BBBaby photos – Your teenagers are rebellious ? Avoid displaying their baby pictures as you will always consider them as ‘your babies’. Placing their baby photos in an album and replacing photos on display with current photos how your teens are and look today. This will definitely acknowledge who they are today and your home can well become more peaceful. – see photo # 1

Photo 1 – Preferably display current photos of people – AVOID their baby photos!

us_threePhotos of People – Display only photos of people that you still count amongst nice family members and good friends. You have a photo of 3 friends but there is one in the photo that you had an argument years ago? Change the photo and update it with the two others.

Photo # 2 – Display photo of multiple friends only that you currently still count amongst your friends!

Photos of you – recent photo please of you smiling and happy. There is no point of displaying a photo of you when you went through a challenging time as this photo is charged with those memories. Avoid photos where you are turning your back unless you are ready to indeed turn your back to a situation in your life and want to move forward towards other horizons! Place then that photo near your front door – see photo # 3

- Roseline Deleu - Looking ahead, new horizons in Life

Photo #3 – Display photo where we see your back ONLY when you want to turn your back on a situation and you are ready to move forward. Place it then next to your front door.

Photos of your couple – A lovely photo of your couple will decorate your home. Photos with the ocean, lake, rivers or other large water element are NOT to be displayed in your master bedroom as water can bring a lack of stability in the couple. A photo with a mountain or a wall behind your back will show support.

sPicture 248Objects and Souvenirs – Keep only those that are filled with good memories. For those who travel a lot and buy souvenirs in each country visited, gather them by continent in one room. Having different cultures in the same room can have some energies conflicting. For example, placing a Papua New Guinean mask in the same room than a Chinese Dragon will definitely bring trouble in your household!

Photo #4 – A Chinese Dragon in a single woman’s home is keeping men away.
Dragon in the home of a couple can protect their relationship.

Feng Shui Outlook on false Abundance

AbundanceMany years ago already, in the middle of the night, I woke up hearing a voice into my left ear. There was no-one around and those loud words resonated in my head… “Material possessions are only important for the Joy they give you!”

These words are still stuck and today, they are part of my daily my thinking process. I repeat this sentence very often, especially to those living with the mindset of lack. Those who think they can’t afford. Those who hesitate to offer themselves quality and special time.

People wouldn’t call me rich, I call myself abundant. I am creative and find ways to bring my dreams to live. I give a lot of my love, compassion, of my time, my articles, my suggestions and the universe always give me more back.

I live to be, not to have. I am free. Are you?

Last week, I received an email of a very dear friend of mine. She was grieving. I asked her permission to share her thoughts with you. After reading her words, you might re-assess your views on Abundance and have another look at the Feng Shui of your place of your body, of your life. Opt for harmonious environment surrounded with quality and tasteful minimal belongings. Spend some time pampering your body, meditate, join a gong healing session, choose quality time in nature.

“Dear Roseline,

I have been a little distracted because a close friend died of cancer ten days ago, and I went down to Melbourne to the funeral. She was younger than me and so I have found myself contemplating life and what I want to do next.

It seems many people are thinking about their lives and their journey. When my friend died, I went around to her unit and found it cluttered and packed with all kinds of “stuff” gathering dust and well worn. She refused to let the unit go, and although living in her sister’s home, continued to pay the rent on it for eighteen months, whilst it sat unused, dusty, dirty and cluttered.

When I suggested she would have more money to spend on getting her hair and nails done, as well as nice new clothes she wanted to then put all the old and tatty furniture into storage, which would have cost the same… so it never got done, she never pampered herself and now her sisters chucked everything into a huge skip-bin and sent it all off to the tip! (Even the Salvos would not take the furniture because it was too faded and tatty!!!)

It made me, and other mutual friends, really think about our lives and how short they can be. Had my friend released her hold on the unit she would have had enough money to take a trip during her final few months.
So now a bunch of us are planning a trip up to Cairns to trek the Daintree forest together in her honour…. and to honour ourselves …

That is why I like your Feng Shui Steps blog posts and your articles. Your philosophy embrace life in the “now” and make everything an adventure. So often “material stuff” owns us… rather than the other way around; and I think that is how my friend saw her objects.

I flew back home and started to do a huge spring-clean… lots and lots of “stuff” has gone to the Op-shop and even more into the bin!!! Now my place looks bigger, is easier to keep clean and I feel lighter and brighter!!! – L.C. Qld, Australia”

garde robe bien rangee– You too, send me your feed-back stories! –

I emptied half of my wardrobe to symbolically welcome a potential relationship. When I was ready, I then activated Chi in my Feng Shui “Relationship” sector at home and after putting my clear intents into an exciting Feng Shui collage, I got my amazing results!

wardrobe well organisedSince the arrival of this man into my life, I had to seriously do more de-cluttering and bring both our harmony into the place: I re-organized and de-cluttered inside my cupboards. One cupboard a day… Happy everyday!

I always wonder how I could have accumulated so much unnecessary stuff. Yesterday, I emptied my pharmacy cabinet, threw left overs of cream waiting in silent bottles as well as old medication that ran out of date.

Since the start of this process, I feel lighter, brighter. Many cupboards are now clean and well organized… so are our ideas and priorities in life, our relationship is in harmony too.

Quick Feng Shui tips for your Kitchen

de-clutter, feng shui consultation, feng shui tips, kitchen design, kitchen renovation

Your kitchen is the symbol of health.

A few quick tips and a check list to have good look around your kitchen today…

–  Clearing clutter is important. What you do not use every day should not be standing on the kitchen bench. The more those items are put away inside cupboards, the better Chi flows

–  Put your set of knives out of sight as they encourage quarrels in the family

–  Hanging dried flowers, strings of garlic or onion is not recommended as dead plants encourage too much Yin energy. Store them in cupboards or vegetable racks

–  Decorating your kitchen or an overhead beam with hanging pots, utensils and empty baskets is not a good idea as they only collect dust. They are also considered inauspicious as they create lots or ‘poison arrows’

–  Keeping a well stored refrigerator and pantry symbolises abundance as does a bowl of fresh fruit or vegetables on the kitchen table

–  The stove, sink and refrigerator should form a triangle. Where a sink is next to a stove, put a wooden item between them to maintain the balance between the energies of fire and water – or it can be as simple as having a wooden bench top in between

–  You should be happy cooking in your kitchen, please avoid depressing pictures, overdue bills stuck on the refrigerator, photos of people who passed away, dying plants etc.

–  Keep the outside of the refrigerator door empty (avoid magnets and real estate calendars that you never look anyway), a clear fridge door is a clear mind 🙂

–  Last but far from being least… avoid watching the news on the television or listening to them on the radio while cooking, they are usually bad news so you can imagine what kind of energy you are adding onto your food! Play some baroque music instead and enjoy your food preparation your health and well-being will improve very quickly.

Cleaned up my Laundry and welcomed lovely Man

Hi Roseline, Remember how much you wanted my laundry to be worked on—which was in my relationship corner— for me to have real success with my intent to meet the right man… Having not been interested for a very long time… I decided to take action, and had a lady especially helped me with serious de-cluttering.

I placed two beautiful candle holders to represent a couple on the clean (de-cluttered) laundry window sill.  Literally exactly 7 days later I had my first communication with an amazing man ‘who is outside of the box’ and met him in person one week later.  We seriously cannot stop smiling and life is grand.  This is total flip out material to say the least.

My laundry was so transformed, that I would keep walking in there to admire it!  I know this is brief and it is so powerful 🙂 cheers my dear—love, Liz
