I had the honour to be invited to see the closing ceremony of the Argyle mine in the East Kimberley where Rio Tinto extracted diamonds for many decades.

Creating ceremony for small or important events in our lives or – in this case – Respecting Country and bring peace again after long time mining, local Land Custodians used smoke and water to clear space and people.

When did you smoke your place and aura last?

The best time is during full moon, but please don’t wait… When you are feeling stuck and feel ready to let go and move forward: smoke/smudge your place and body (in all safety) verbalising your intents aloud.
Favour local herbs/tree sticks from your area for a more powerful result.

Change is life.

Enjoy

“Modern world” Genocide could be near you

My travels recently brought me to the Pilbara in Western Australia. Amazing landscapes when visiting the National Parks. Super hot temperatures though – yes… I was there in January which is Summer and the thermometer showed 47 degrees Celsius. Karijini NP

Karijini NP – Western Australia

Closer to the Coast, I fell in love at first sight with what initially appeared to me as a lovely locality: Ieramugadu, better known on the ‘official’ map and by the new Australians under Roebourne Western Australia.
Terribly sad past history unfortunately, this little township now counts other attractions than the old gaol and counts a Cultural Art Centre in the old pub, a lovely park next to it, sports facilities and nice murals!

I could see myself living there.

DSC_3922 e

Then I drove up to the top of the hill and had a better look and immediately had second thoughts!
The main electrical power plant is located near the Aged Care, Community Services and local Hospital. The close surroundings of the water tower is decorated with Mobile Phone Antennas zapping the water constantly – whether you drink the water or you wash yourself with it, imagine what it does to you!
DSC_3923 doc

DSC_3924 doc

Last but not least, the local cemetery is surrounded by so many houses that would be very spooky and very unhealthy – physically, emotionally and spiritually – living there.

As very well illustrated in the documentary “Exile and the Kingdom”  we see the huge issues of Colonisation, Slavery, Mining booms… I would like to encourage you to watch, through the above link (Part 1)  the story of the Aboriginal people of Ieramugadu (Roebourne), their Law, their tribal voice – their survival.

I mentioned those three major issues to one of the local Health Centers who probably thought that I was an alien!
I wish a day would come where mayors, town planners and landscapers would start their projects with common sense first and for the Well-Being of all.

Ignorance leads to another modern slow Genocide again in Roebourne!
Wake up please.

Some recent events in my life pushed me to feel like a big tree growing another strong branch !

Indeed, new interests have developed in the last few years and are now part of who I am today. These changes made my Feng Shui approach much stronger and my personal links with Nature and the Universe more loving.

I let go of the old website to launch (currently a simple one page) the updated version of myself to discover on www.fengshuisteps.com.au

Dear Roseline, We have been here in our new home 2 and a bit years and my family and I have all felt displaced and unsettled. Something is not quite right! Your advice would be appreciated. – Jordan, Australia

Dear Jordan,

There are many reasons why someone would feel unsettled. I will list only a few with dot points – this list is far from being exhaustive!

Could be that…

  • Was this new house built on a aboriginal burial site?
  • Do you still long to your old home?
  • Did you say goodbye to your old house (equally important if you rented or owned it) ?
  • Did you take with you in this new home newly bought antiques or mirrors that had been used by another person?
  • Did you bring in with you in this new place objects of recently deceased people?
  • Is your house located near one of those really high electric poles? or high electric fields?
  • Is your new place ‘closed in’ and were you used before to have a large garden or lived on a big property?
  • What is across of your main entry door?

More details from you would be welcomed so I could give you further suggestions. Cheers!

I am happy to help all my readers help themselves with Feng Shui tips.
Even though this blog doesn’t replace a Feng Shui consultation with me, I do welcome simple questions via email to which I will answer by placing an article on this blog so that all followers can learn.

Clearer Wording can change Lives!

domestic violence, haus violence, pacific islands, roseline deleu, safe haus, save a life

I woke up suddenly to the sound of broken glass, banging on the wall and a man yelling and shouting. It was 3.45 AM and I had been only a few days in this new country. I looked through all my papers for the phone number to call the police but I didn’t have that info and I hadn’t come across phone books here yet. All other rooms in the share accommodation were dark, everyone else seemed either still asleep or trying to ignore what was happening next door. I felt useless. After 45 minutes, all became silent. A strange silence subtly revealing lots of hurt, bruises, broken hearts, sad and traumatic memories emotionally scaring kids for life. I know how it hurts. Many of you know this too.

The house next door was in very poor condition but rather large and hosted three families. The elderly father passed away last year. Family struggled living together and managing their finances – that’s was what the old man did best. They now had sold the property to my landlords and were waiting for the final property exchange. In the meantime, they came and asked them regularly for advanced money that sadly went straight to the too numerous bottle shops around town. Friday nights were the worst.

The next morning I questioned the landlords living on the ground floor on what’s the protocol when domestic violence happens here. Like me, they had heard the noise and fights last night but, as usual, turned around in bed and ignored it. I asked them why they didn’t call the police to report this domestic violence incident? That’s when the penny dropped!

“Oh, no” – said the landlord – “This is only family stuff, not domestic violence!”

I realised that for him the word ‘domestic’ didn’t have a clear meaning. I explained the origin of domestic – ‘domus’ means ‘house’ in Latin – then I thought I must be a little silly talking about Latin on that island in the middle of the Pacific! – So ‘domestic violence’ is of course family stuff but… culturally speaking , in the Pacific Islands, when it comes to family differences, hardly anybody would interfere!

There is a “Safe Haus” around the corner though, locals all know about it. It is a safe place, a refuge for family members suffering from violence at home.

English speakers often assume that everyone understands English. In the Pacific Islands, locals speak their own language and Pidgin English so… lots get lost in translation!

I wonder how deeper impact renaming domestic violence into “Violence blo Haus” or “Haus Violence” or “Family Violence” would have on people reacting and calling for help?

Violence is everyone’s business.

When you witness violence, call the police and you can stay anonymous.
Your call can change lives and even save one!

We see it on the news, violence is everywhere, in your country too.
Think about it, saving a life is only a phone call away.

Flower Pacific Islands

Thank you!

On your way from Cairns to Cooktown, turn off @ Wujal Wujal and discover Buru also known as China Camp where the local elder CJ Fisher takes you on an accompanied walk.

Put your tent in your 4WD and stay there camping overnight, sit around camp fire and watch an incredible sky. An experience of a life time that you will always remember!

Insights on Aboriginal Wisdom for the Modern World

Roseline and aboriginal art xsEarly September, I had the fantastic opportunity to be invited and speak for Yes Group Belgium at the Aboriginal Signature Gallery in Brussels. Surrounded by those amazing art works of Central Australia, it was the perfect opportunity to share the approach of what I observed and learned of my life with Aboriginal Australians in the past few years.

The audience was multi-lingual and luckily I could present my talk in English. I started the lecture with a couple of simple questions, knowing that the group is interested in well-being, personal growth and self-reflection. Here is a very brief summary…

– What is the most important for you in your life right now?
The answers varied from money to work, one person even mentioned happiness.
Since everyone has a different view on life and life style, who am I to say there would be a wrong answer?
->  I suggested JOY. An emotion.
I believe that we incarnated in our little body to experience emotions. Each emotion will manifest or express itself in our physical bodies and could turn into ‘butterflies’ in our stomach when we are happy and excited or turn into aches and pain when stressed.
With JOY you may skip some of the aches and pains?… Worth trying!
We are emotions, we become emotions.

– What is your best asset?
Answers were work, career, family and more.
_> I suggested HEALTH… and in synergy with JOY your health will probably be thriving!
We all smiled 🙂

– Who are you?
Many in the audience referred to their names, to their job, to being human…
I shared what I humbly understand today – without asking anyone to believe this but rather to think about it…

“I am an infinite being living infinite lives in infinite dimensions, NOW!” Roseline Deleu

Aboriginal Signature GalleryThe big difference between Aboriginal Australians and the modern world is that they are space based while modern world is time based. Stressed people can’t live in the now, they constantly look at their watch, they have goals or budgets to achieve, deadlines to match.
Indigenous Australians, connect with their environment, with the space. Country is family. Trees, plants, animals, nature too. They connect, they respect. They do their best to cope with the modern world that started being imposed on them about 200 years ago, some communities were still nomads in the 1980’s!

Roseline Deleu aboriginal gallery Brussels xsWhat the modern world doesn’t understand is that indigenous people perceive and live in different realms, other dimensions and that’s one of the reasons why money is not their priority. They are right, we can’t breathe money, we can’t eat coins!
The essential is TO BE not to have. It is to care for country, to hold the land.

Material possessions are only important for the joy they give us. If we can’t carry them freely in a small bag, they are probably a burden. (I am very aware of this and I traveled to Europe for 6 weeks only with 6 kilos in my bag!)

For those who wish to start connecting with this ancient culture and get some insights of who they truly are, I encourage you to display an original and unique piece of Aboriginal Australian Art work in their surroundings. Feel their power. Magic happens.

Food for thought.

My Equi-Life Coaching Experience

DSC_5563I often experience different techniques especially when I come across interesting and genuine people – Frank Dejoncheere, director of Equi-Life Coaching is one of them!

When Frank enthusiastically shared with me the great results he gets with coaching people through interactions with horses (Equi-coaching), I was interested and booked a session.

Ostriches in GrimbergenArriving at its outdoors location in Grimbergen (Belgium), he walked with me and I discovered: 3 horses each in their paddock, a few ostriches and several white emus safely guarded. I couldn’t help myself to pick up their beautiful feathers on the ground. I thought I could offer them when I go next to Papua New Guinea for their ceremonial outfits.

The horse in the first paddock called me. Frank smiled, he reckons it is the horse with the biggest ego and the hardest to deal with. We walked into his paddock. I discussed with Frank about a little health challenge I am ready to solve that appeared due to unspoken words. On a physical level, this trauma located itself under my chin and sometimes looks like a double chin that interestingly appears on and off depending on my moods, how much water I drink – I am currently monitoring how and when it changes. I decided to energetically place this issue onto the horse to see how I could change this trauma into joy. Here is what happened…

The horse shows you something with his behaviour… he was eating. I cracked out laughing, I had put on a few extra kilos lately and me too, like the horse, seem to be (too) often eating.

When the horse leaves, so does the trauma. Interestingly, the 2 other horses in the other paddocks were in sync and all 3 left at the same time. Interesting. This was the sign for me TO BE and LET GO rather than express what I WANT! I still had to now welcome the transformation that turned into JOY

We were still standing in the paddock with no horse in sight, we then started talking about the colours of my scarf and the gold colours that I was wearing in hat and scarf. I explained what gold meant for me and soon got the strong realisation that my body seeked Gold oligo elements under my tongue. I was in the moment, I was connecting with me, I was living the TO BE.

Wild horses in the Centre of Australia

Wild horses in the Center of Australia – photo Roseline Deleu

When Frank asked me what I saw right there standing in the paddock, I saw fences, limitations… because horses where I usually am in the Centre of Australia are wild horses running free in the large desert areas. I got excited talking about freedom, talked and connected with the elements of Nature and felt my aura changing. Frank stopped me kindly as I was talking about rocks (the Metal element)… my whole body became huge and he wanted to warn me, he had never seen nor experiences such a sight before. When I talked about plants (the Wood element)… my whole body expanded around me and Frank had to take a step back. Tuning into Earth, my body shrank and I felt and looked as little as a dwarf. What I felt was that my body was suddenly wearing clothes that had shrunk in the dryer. I could feel it in my cells too it is an fantastic experience!

We turned to the other side of the paddock and realised that all 3 horses were all out of sight. My trauma was leaving or had left! Now… time to welcome Joy when the horse would come back to me.

Roseline Deleu connecting with horse

Horse named “Terrific” connecting with Roseline Deleu in Grimbergen

A plane was flying above our heads and we noticed a large bird circling a few hundred metres from us. We watched it and as we talked we started walking to the right, the bird changed direction and flew to the right too. We were talking about freedom and being in the flow. We were in the NOW.

We turned again and saw the horse walking towards us. Trauma had transformed, Joy was coming!

Purple cloverAs we walked towards the animal, we stopped at the same moment and looked down in the grass, only to notice half a dozen of little purple coloured clovers lost among the grass. I kneed down and picked up a 2 leave clover. I smiled and said after all the usual good luck for the green ones are 4 leaves, these purple ones must be 2 leaves only, they are different – so are our beliefs in life.

Many signs and lessons appeared for me during this Equi-life Coaching session. One song came into my head as I looked at the clovers: “From little things big things grow” (Paul Kelly, Singer) which is a well known song in Australia relating to Vincent Lingari and aboriginal history of Gurindji people when they went on an 8 year strike to recup their land from the colonialists. All is about the Land, respecting the Land. Here I was, back in Belgium, on the land where I was born, making the connexion with my 18 years of Australian wisdom. Please follow the links at the end of this post.

The horse looked smaller at the end of my session, my emotional baggage had left!

When I connected with the nature elements, my double chin had left.
I was in the Tao, in the NOW, in the flow of life, I was free, I was ONE.

An Equi-life coaching session is not about the horse it is about you. So for those of you who are a little afraid of horses, I haven’t even touched the horse! We simply connected. We were ONE.

I encourage you to book your session with Frank www.coachmij.be sessions are in English, Flemish or French.

How would we react if Aliens took over our lives?

aboriginal art, aboriginal australian have lots to teach to the world, art in your home, colonialism, feng shui 5 elements in the home, feng shui steps, Post Traumatic stress on indigenous, roseline deleu

For the past few years I have been spending study & research time on “Impact of environment on our Health” in various remote places and communities of the Centre of Australia. This is my time to pursue my life philosophy developing more in-depth Feng Shui— after all, there is no better school than self-discovery connecting with Mother Nature!
During my Journey, I encountered many fascinating people. I often feel that I am living one of Paolo Coelho’s best-selling books. Each scenery, each person, each event, leads me to another discovery and on another part of my life path. By the way… The same applies to you!

UluruFor many, the Centre of Australia is better known for Alice Springs and Uluru (Ayers Rock), hosting in its surrounding areas famous aboriginal artists living and keeping the oldest culture alive as much as they can, braving the devastating effects of colonialism, slaughtering, modern word, consumerism and television.

Can you imagine that many here hadn’t seen a white person about 60 years ago? Uluru only started to be a tourist attraction after the 1970’s.

What a shock for the First Australians, having to jump from Stone Age to IT and virtual technology so fast—it took us centuries to get there! It must be so hard to cope with such a huge change. I can say that many suffer from that Post Traumatic Stress!

I often wonder how we would feel if aliens arrived on our planet and asked us to follow their ways of life, their laws and continue our cultural practices where we live, while they watch how we react, stress and suffer.

Australian Aboriginal paintings are more than books on culture. Art vary from region to region, just like the elements used in Feng Shui (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal) vary in different parts of Australia too. All paintings are very colourful and each dot painted is carrying the artist’s personality, belief and energy. Displaying one of their paintings in your home may depict your wish to connect and welcome some of their lives, their energies, stories and ancient wisdom.

Our Mob exhibition Alice SpringsI enjoy being anywhere in the world, nevertheless I must admit that in the Australian Centre, I miss the shades of lush green and the element of Water. Here the Earth is red, the green is timid in its hues. All here is hot and dry under a beautiful blue and sunny sky. Our brain need sun light, our eyes enjoy looking at colours… Hence the importance to surround ourselves with the 5 Elements (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal) that will be represented by colours, textures, shapes and objects of your decor. Aboriginal artist add these colours with the way they dress and the beautiful pieces they create.
