Roseline Deleu (http://www.fengshuisteps.com) interviews
Connect Magazine Director Renee Cashman (http://www.connectmagazine.org)
1. Please Renee, tell our readers briefly WHEN, HOW, WHERE or in WHICH circumstances we met?
I had the pleasure of meeting Roseline on the Equinox of September 2012 at a Mind Body Harmony Day in Palm Cove, Cairns, Queensland (Australia). It was so lovely to meet in person after Roseline had been contributing the Feng Shui column in the Connect Magazine for a number of years and we’d shared countless emails between us.
2. Since I have started writing for you, could you share what is the most interesting Feng Shui result that you have experienced?
What I always find intriguing is how the Feng Shui column is so relevant to my life at the time. This happens often but one example that comes straight to mind is when I had an ex-partner ask for a ring back, that he had given me. Whilst contemplating what to do, I received the latest column from Roseline about how jewellery and other items hold energy and how important it is to clear these things out if they don’t stimulate happiness.
I believe Roseline has an incredible intuitive ability with her Feng Shui!
3. Let’s talk more about you now Renee… Tell us a little about yourself and your work and your magazine
I am an intensely creative and passionate woman who is not afraid to dream. I am blessed also with not only the vision but the ability to take the steps necessary to manifest what one dreams of. Juggling children, partner, home, magazine and music is not easy but walks along the beach help me to maintain balance.
I have two streams of work being magazine and music. Both of these were born in me at the same time and seem intricately linked. Music opened the doorway to my spiritual realisation and the magazine was born out of the desire to assist others to spiritual realisation.
Bee Universal Inc was the beginning and the not-for-profit organisation was officially born in 2003 with Connect Magazine coming on line in March 2004 under the Bee Universal Inc. banner. Connect Magazine has grown from a little A5 magazine with 500 copies in Cairns to an A4 size magazine with 3000 copies across North Queensland, Australia.
My work with sacred sound has also grown with many more instruments in my collection to share in my meditations and personal sessions. My music work has also grown to include 5 others and together we form the Soul Harmonics Orchestra, playing live Meditation Music nights regularly and releasing our debut CD, The Cosmic Seed.
4. What are the five words that people would use to describe Connect Magazine.org?
Spiritual, informative, inspiring, helpful, community.
5. What was the purpose of starting your CONNECT Magazine business and how has the concept come about?
Well, the name says it all really – Connect – to connect people with each other and their true divine selves. The opportunity really came about when the local Spiritual Centre announced that they could no longer keep their newsletter going. Not wanting to see this vital link lost in the community, we started Connect Magazine.
6. What are your best recommendations?
– Allow yourself the time to daydream.
– Listen to your heart.
– Believe in yourself.
– Take action.
7. Tell us more about your services that you provide to your readers?
Besides informative and inspiring articles about health and wellbeing, the environment, community and the arts, we also have different themes each month. February 2013’s theme is Awareness and March’s theme is Harmony. We also feature a Community Calendar for Special Events and a Regular Classes lift-out Guide. The Services Directory lists local practitioners and makes it easy to find who or what you’re looking for. Our prices are very affordable and allow everyone the opportunity to spread the word about what they do.
We feature local artists on the cover each month and are launching a compilation Harmony CD in March 2013 of local musicians! This is a new and exciting project for us with beautiful music that will assist the listener to experience harmony. All of this, and more, can be found on our website!
8. Tell us about one of your Secrets?
Well… if I told you it wouldn’t be a secret!
I actually don’t have any secrets – I’m terrible at holding onto them.
9. What advice can you offer to people who are just discovering Connect Magazine?
Read, read, read and then practice, practice, practice.
10. Do you have a book that you would like to recommend?
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield is an easy book to read filled with adventure and spiritual insights, especially good for those beginning to awaken and always good for a reminder.
For the more advanced I’d suggest, Emptiness Dancing by Adyashanti, so insightful a couple of pages a day is enough for contemplation.
