The kitchen contains the most ‘Fire’ element around the house; it is where you prepare and cook meals. The kitchen is also the symbol of health so the position of appliances is important.

Traditional Feng Shui experts pay most attention to the location of the stove being in the ‘power position’ – which means facing the entering Chi. The chef should never be cooking turning his/her back to the Chi or the residents ‘health, wealth and personal relations could suffer.

In this regards, we have 2 different cycles:

1. The logic cycle – Food feeds a person’s health and effectiveness. So the better the food, the more capable the person and the larger his/her potential income… which in turn could well be improving the quality of his/her food.

2. The depressing cycle – The poorer the person, the words the food (generally), so he/she will get into that spiral downhill.

The ideal kitchen is spacious, brightly lit and well ventilated. A stove cramped in a corner will inhibit the cook’s movements and block Chi flow. The stove symbolises the home’s finances. It should be clean and work smoothly (so please check that all burners are in working order). The amount of use of burners can influence the prosperity of the family; the more burners the ore income. When burners are not used, the family is missing out of opportunities and may not prosper as well as they would like.

Feng Shui KitchenFig 1 – Feng Shui layout for your kitchen

a) Clearing clutter everyday is important. Put away any dishes and items that are not used daily
b) A stainless steel or glass splash back can be used to reflect the entering Chi if the stove is not in the power position (as illustrated on Fig 1). Stainless steel appliances could be used to create the same effect.
c) Make sure that all burners are in working order
d) Please leave fridge uncluttered, un-necessary magnets and bills won’t make your day!
e) Keep the work area clean and empty when not in use. The more things are stored away in cupboards, the better Chi will flow.

Enjoying cooking in a happy kitchen puts happiness into your food = Happy family!

NO-NOs for the Kitchen

– Decorating your kitchen or an overhead beam with hanging pots, utensils or empty baskets is not a good idea because they are usually are stagnant and collect dust. They are also considered inauspicious as they create lots of poison arrows and give the impression of a cluttered place.
– Put your knives out of sight as they encourage quarrels in the family.
– Hanging dried flowers or garlic strings = dead plants that would send too much Yin energy; store them instead in cupboards if needed.

GOOD ideas for the Kitchen

– Keeping a well stored refrigerator and pantry symbolises abundance as does a bowl of fresh fruit or vegetables on the kitchen table.
– be happy cooking in your kitchen; please avoid listening or watching the news (they are usually bad news anyway) , avoid depressing pictures, unpaid bills on the fridge door or photos of people or animals who passed away.
– Play harmonious and happy music while cooking so you put good energy into your food too.

Add the letter ‘A’ onto your Life
Change your PLACE into your P A L A C E and start looking at life differently.

Your home is the reflection of what you are living right now. You constantly scan your surroundings, are they looking happy and bright? Do you struggle with relationships? Are you willing to change career and you hesitate to take steps? Your emotional health is challenged and affects your physical body, your income, your social life. Maybe you would like some extra $$$$ but for the moment all this seems to be in the ‘too hard’ basket?

Change your PLACE into your P A L A C E and your life might never be the same again!

Feng Shui ConsultationRoseline Deleu has adapted Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art of placement to many cultures, beliefs and understanding. She has been conducting homes and business consultations and trainings for over 20 years. During your home or business consultation with her, together you spend a few hours and look at your life and the influence that your decor has onto your moods. Often, simply by changing the placement of some of your furniture, hanging a frame or a photo on the right spot, adding light in a dark corner, you unblock energy flow and coincidentally opportunities are coming your way.

Are you ready for a potential life change? Roseline has been consulting for over 20 years and has changed many people’s lives starting with her own. Her positive and constructive attitude could give you that boost that you always needed to step forward. Very often there is no need to purchase anything, together with Roseline, you will use what you already own and place it symbolically in the right spot. You turn your place into your P A L A C E and start enjoying life (again).
Grasp this opportunity and book Roseline, she travels Australia wide for the moment and will be in Europe in a few months time. Offer yourself this special time and invest in you.

Feng Shui location of your Kitchen

Kitchen and DiningWhere is your kitchen located and what does this imply?
Follow the Black Hat school of Feng Shui and place this magic square grid aligning the side 8-1-6 with your main entrance, then divide your home plan into 9 equal areas (without worrying about your walls, this means that one room might well be occupying more than one area).Feng Shui Steps Ba Gua in colour

Area 1 = Avoid having kitchen in area 1 as you are putting ‘Fire’ in the “Water”. If so, add metal appliances and choose when possible black finishes. A wooden kitchen is a total ban in this case!

Area 2 = When the kitchen is in area 2 and the layout of the stove is in the power position (cook looking at the entering Chi), you should have a great relationship/marriage.

Area 3 & 4 = Add a transparent vase with fresh flowers or an ornament with fresh water for example a little indoor water fountain to see your wealth, abundance and health thrive

Area 5 = The kitchen area in the centre of the house is considered auspicious as long as there is proper ventilation and natural light

Area 6 = The “Fire” might be melting the ‘Metal’ this means that you might not be traveling as much as you’d really like or not getting as many visitors as hoped. To improve this, paint the room an earthy colour or choose this time of shades for your tiles. A white kitchen is always good.

Area 7 = You might be struggling to become pregnant when the kitchen is in sector 7. The same applies for putting your ideas and project into action. Add fresh white flowers on your workbench and a touch of black decor is very welcome too. Avoid wooden finishes though!

Area 8 = with the kitchen in that location you will see yourself opening up to the spiritual world and being guided. It is an good location for children’s good studies at school as long as their desk in their study is in the power position – which means with a full wall behind their back and looking at the entering Chi.

Area 9 = Good for well being except when the kitchen has an excess of wood or fire which means no read nor wooden kitchen that could encourage problems with hyper tension and heart conditions.

Quick Feng Shui tips for your Kitchen

de-clutter, feng shui consultation, feng shui tips, kitchen design, kitchen renovation

Your kitchen is the symbol of health.

A few quick tips and a check list to have good look around your kitchen today…

–  Clearing clutter is important. What you do not use every day should not be standing on the kitchen bench. The more those items are put away inside cupboards, the better Chi flows

–  Put your set of knives out of sight as they encourage quarrels in the family

–  Hanging dried flowers, strings of garlic or onion is not recommended as dead plants encourage too much Yin energy. Store them in cupboards or vegetable racks

–  Decorating your kitchen or an overhead beam with hanging pots, utensils and empty baskets is not a good idea as they only collect dust. They are also considered inauspicious as they create lots or ‘poison arrows’

–  Keeping a well stored refrigerator and pantry symbolises abundance as does a bowl of fresh fruit or vegetables on the kitchen table

–  The stove, sink and refrigerator should form a triangle. Where a sink is next to a stove, put a wooden item between them to maintain the balance between the energies of fire and water – or it can be as simple as having a wooden bench top in between

–  You should be happy cooking in your kitchen, please avoid depressing pictures, overdue bills stuck on the refrigerator, photos of people who passed away, dying plants etc.

–  Keep the outside of the refrigerator door empty (avoid magnets and real estate calendars that you never look anyway), a clear fridge door is a clear mind 🙂

–  Last but far from being least… avoid watching the news on the television or listening to them on the radio while cooking, they are usually bad news so you can imagine what kind of energy you are adding onto your food! Play some baroque music instead and enjoy your food preparation your health and well-being will improve very quickly.

We all already know that organic food is essential to us all – humans and animals! GM (Genetically Modified) food could well be one of the cause why so many couple these days are struggling with their fertility!

Please avoid watching the news on the television or listening to them on the radio while cooking or eating – they are usually bad news so you can imagine what kind of energy you are adding onto your food! Play some baroque music and enjoy your food preparation – your health and well-being will improve very quickly.

I cook as healthy as possible on a daily basis. While cooking, I always add a Reiki symbol and bless my food. I am in gratitude! Lately, I started to talk to my body and have suggested that it only takes out of this food the good things it needs and requests – it is so much easier that following a strict diet… and I feel so much better!

Every positive thoughts count. Bon appetit!

Knives put away + Old Pictures discarded = Peace at Home!

ba gua, feng shui, feng shui cure, Feng Shui Kitchen, feng shui master, feng shui results, feng shui steps, Good teenagers, knives, old pictures, roseline deleu

I’m so excited about the results of what I’ve done, after reading and implementing your basic book “Your First Easy Steps to Feng Shui”, Roseline, that I want to share!

I read the book over and over and at the same time I started to make some changes around the house. First step was of course ‘de-cluttering’.

My lounge/dining are in areas 6,7 & 2 (according to my grid placement) were full of my children’s photograph & memorabilia since they were little… so I started taking them out including photos of my late husband, leaving just a few new ones of my children today, and put more photos of myself instead. I thought to myself: “Its about time that I dominate my life”. For so long, I felt that the kids (3) were dominating my life since they were growing up and they became over powering, especially my 2 young teen girls. Too much energy flowing around the house, arguments, disagreements, aggressiveness, etc. You know what is like when you have teenagers in the house, it’s mad most of the time. I’ve arranged the furniture in the lounge which is now a bit spacious and welcoming. In the kitchen, which is partly on area 9, I have 3 sets of knives on blocks which were out on display, so I put them in the cupboard. I also hung a Ba Gua mirror outside my front door, although it’s not directly facing the light pole in front of my driveway, I thought, too much bad energy was coming from there as well.

Surprisingly, if not coincidental, my life with the kids have changed a lot better since I’ve done these cures. My two girls attitude, especially the young one which has just turned 18 has mellowed down a lot. They are less aggressive, less quarrels or nothing at all, they are now sober, I should say and we can discuss matters without yelling or fighting! They are behaving like great adults. Less bad energy flowing here now I can admit!

I’m really happy that I’ve read the book and adopted the cures just on time for a real change. Thanks Roseline! – Ophelia
