Dear Roseline,

I am often caused to think of you through the feng shui principles you shared with me. In my own place I am experimenting selecting and placing things in places that amplify these principles.

Some of them jump out at you and you know and feel that they are right!
e.g. I have a central sky light in the main lounge kitchen area. Is it any wonder that it is my favourite area to sit and work, eat or play.

My kitchen is in the abundance area, needless to say I enjoy preparing and cooking wholesome foods and drinks.

I am constantly challenged to reduce my storage of building materials as I am nearing completion of renovation.

When things are removed a burden is lifted and you have more space to be and you feel “cleaner” and much lighter.

At the right time new things and experiences can be incorporated.

Thank you for the many posts you have been sharing on your blog in the past years, I’m sure it inspired many others.

Beam above Bed

Protruding beams above beds are certainly a Feng Shui challenge. As Chi flows, the apparent beam sends a ‘heavier’ energy along and below where the beam is running.

Beam above bed

As illustrated here, the beam would cross roughly around the breast area.

How can you counteract this?

Design a lovely and tasteful canopy so it gives you another ‘ceiling’ above your head.

In addition, having a flat / leveled / arched ceiling above your head will be much more comfortable to sleep and would give you a better health.

Poor little Cactus

Hello Roseline, Firstly, I want to thank you for all the precious Feng Shui info that you put on your blog! I have a question for you – I bought a little cactus and placed it on the window seal at home on the wall that is touching an electric cabin, hoping that it’d take the bad vibes away. White spots appeared on the cactus, would that mean that the energy is bad there? That the cactus has absorbed the negative vibes that would otherwise come to me (this is possible). Is is better to get rid of the cactus or to look after it? Thank you for your insights. – Angie (France)

Hello Angie and thank you for your question as this is important for keeping the blog interesting for the readers!

Having no photo of your cactus, I can only answer to you… assuming. From what you describe, your cactus would have indeed reacted to the effect of the magnetic field coming off the electric cabin next to your home. Which means that by developing the unusual white spots, it shows to you that there is something bad around for yourself in that area.

Unfortunately, a little cactus wouldn’t be enough to protect you. Be logic, look at the size of the power cabin and your size compare it to the size of your little cactus… how many cacti would you need for a decent protection in this case!?

With your scenario, here are a few good questions to ask yourself:

  • Do the inhabitants and the animals living in your home have health issues?
  • Since when do you live in that house?
  • Do you rent or are you the owner?

In regards to your little cactus, move it to a safe and healthy environment and give it time to heal.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

If you like, purchase many cacti and place all of them on your kitchen window on the electric cabin side and see what happens.

Take care. Best regards,

Your Feng Shui challenge/mission for today is simply to look after your lungs, which means taking are of what gives you the quality of the air that you breathe at home. Therefore, clean all vents and filters (air-conditioning, heaters etc)… and every other place that you know is essential for a good quality of air.

Roseline Deleu SydneyMay I remind you that Feng Shui means Wind and Water, now you clear and aware how this mission of today is important.

Congratulations to all of you who have managed to eliminate as much as possible from all your Inboxes during Day 2! 🙂

DAY 3 – Take care of your Entry Doorentry door

Today, we stay away from the computer, we move! We go outside and have a good look at all the details of our entry door. We dust it, clean its windows, repair what may not be working, put healthy plants in nice (unbroken) pots – or anything else that you fancy doing with that front door.

Moreover…
1. Make sure your doorbell is in working order
2. Your door mat is welcoming visitors in front of the door
3. Your house number is clearly indicated

A Day 3 much more relaxing than yesterday… which may allow some of you to finish clearing those inboxes that were not done yesterday.

Ceiling – Looking at the Stars?

ceilings in dining areas, cosy, dark ceiling, Deleu, delue, easy, feng shui, good feng shui light, lighting, night sky ceiling, Roseline

I recall when my son was little, I decorated its bedroom ceiling with some glow-in-the-dark stars. We all loved the idea! They were blue-tagged and sadly the blue-tag of that time made a mess when many years later I decided to remove them when moving out.

Today, it seems trendy to have that night sky feeling inside buildings. As you can see in those photos, the ceilings are painted in night sky blue or black and are decorated with many little lights. The effect is stunning as long as your ceiling is very high – this point is essential!!!

The Aston - Classic Constructions

Some trendy restaurants also decided to bring on dark ceilings – maybe we can’t see our food as well – but this gives a nice and cosy atmosphere in the place.

Black ceiling

From a Feng Shui perspective, having the sky above your heads creates the feeling of infinity, it opens up your mind and possibilities. Avoid having this decor on normal height ceilings please as this would deter the point and you would make the room feeling much smaller.

Dear Roseline, We have been here in our new home 2 and a bit years and my family and I have all felt displaced and unsettled. Something is not quite right! Your advice would be appreciated. – Jordan, Australia

Dear Jordan,

There are many reasons why someone would feel unsettled. I will list only a few with dot points – this list is far from being exhaustive!

Could be that…

  • Was this new house built on a aboriginal burial site?
  • Do you still long to your old home?
  • Did you say goodbye to your old house (equally important if you rented or owned it) ?
  • Did you take with you in this new home newly bought antiques or mirrors that had been used by another person?
  • Did you bring in with you in this new place objects of recently deceased people?
  • Is your house located near one of those really high electric poles? or high electric fields?
  • Is your new place ‘closed in’ and were you used before to have a large garden or lived on a big property?
  • What is across of your main entry door?

More details from you would be welcomed so I could give you further suggestions. Cheers!

I am happy to help all my readers help themselves with Feng Shui tips.
Even though this blog doesn’t replace a Feng Shui consultation with me, I do welcome simple questions via email to which I will answer by placing an article on this blog so that all followers can learn.

Deceased Jewelry

Reader’s question

Dear Roseline,
May I ask you a question regarding jewelry that belonged to a loved one. Sadly, I lost my mother a week ago and she gave me the ring that was hers for 7 decades. I wonder if it’s ‘good feng shui’ to safely wear it or if I simply have to clean it? For the past 2 years it had been locked in a safe as she was scared that it would have been stolen in the retirement home where she spent her last years.

Thank you for all your articles on your blog, they have already helped lots of my friends. – X.D. (Australia)

Dear X.D.,

Firstly accept my deepest condolences, it is always hard to loose a loved one and certainly is a challenge too wondering what to do with material possessions and memories.

Your mum’s ring will be carrying her energies especially if she had been wearing it for many decades. For example, I received a while ago an very old and beautiful pearl neckless from an old friend of mine who herself had received it from a deceased friend who survived time in concentration camps. The first time I wore the neckless, Ifelt like something was strangling me. I thus put it several times outside in a ceramic bowl during full moon nights. I repeated this 3 months in a row.
When I wore it 3 months later, after those clearing rituals, the old clip broke. I brought it to a jeweller and had it repaired. Ever since, I wear it either around my neck or as bracelet and each time, I think of my friend who since passed away. She was a strong and courageous lady. I believe that this trait of character is re-activated in my memory every time I put on the neckless. MAybe it has inflenced my courage and perseverance too?

Thank you for your answer, Roseline, I now will start the clearing process and will keep you posted. X.D.
