For the past few years I have been spending study & research time on “Impact of environment on our Health” in various remote places and communities of the Centre of Australia. This is my time to pursue my life philosophy developing more in-depth Feng Shui— after all, there is no better school than self-discovery connecting with Mother Nature!
During my Journey, I encountered many fascinating people. I often feel that I am living one of Paolo Coelho’s best-selling books. Each scenery, each person, each event, leads me to another discovery and on another part of my life path. By the way… The same applies to you!
For many, the Centre of Australia is better known for Alice Springs and Uluru (Ayers Rock), hosting in its surrounding areas famous aboriginal artists living and keeping the oldest culture alive as much as they can, braving the devastating effects of colonialism, slaughtering, modern word, consumerism and television.
Can you imagine that many here hadn’t seen a white person about 60 years ago? Uluru only started to be a tourist attraction after the 1970’s.
What a shock for the First Australians, having to jump from Stone Age to IT and virtual technology so fast—it took us centuries to get there! It must be so hard to cope with such a huge change. I can say that many suffer from that Post Traumatic Stress!
I often wonder how we would feel if aliens arrived on our planet and asked us to follow their ways of life, their laws and continue our cultural practices where we live, while they watch how we react, stress and suffer.
Australian Aboriginal paintings are more than books on culture. Art vary from region to region, just like the elements used in Feng Shui (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal) vary in different parts of Australia too. All paintings are very colourful and each dot painted is carrying the artist’s personality, belief and energy. Displaying one of their paintings in your home may depict your wish to connect and welcome some of their lives, their energies, stories and ancient wisdom.
I enjoy being anywhere in the world, nevertheless I must admit that in the Australian Centre, I miss the shades of lush green and the element of Water. Here the Earth is red, the green is timid in its hues. All here is hot and dry under a beautiful blue and sunny sky. Our brain need sun light, our eyes enjoy looking at colours… Hence the importance to surround ourselves with the 5 Elements (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal) that will be represented by colours, textures, shapes and objects of your decor. Aboriginal artist add these colours with the way they dress and the beautiful pieces they create.
