A few days ago I published the Part 1 of this article, I gave you all the GOOD tips for the Master Bedroom. This post is looking into all what we should AVOID…

A few Feng Shui NO NO’s for the Master Bedroom

– Do NOT place any symbol of the Water element in the master bedroom… NO aquariums, NO waterbed, NO picture, photo or painting of water they could bring a lack of stability in your couple
– NO pictures of your children. The bedroom is your room as a couple, you are already ‘mum & dad’ in all the other rooms of the house!
– NO books, NO magazines in your bedroom. Reading best happens in your lounge or study areas. Your bedroom is for you to relax, share love, rest and sleep. An interesting book would keep you awake and distracted from the initial purpose of your room!
– Do NOT place liquid crystal alarm clocks just near your bed head. You might wake up with a headache. Locate it instead at least 1.5 metre away from your head, maybe in your en-suite This helps reduce the electro-magnetic field exposure
– Remove as many electrical appliances from the bedroom as possible
– Ideally, avoid computers or anything related with your work or your daily business; you’d dream and worry of work all night
– Look what’s behind the wall of your bed head. Avoid placing your bed near AC (alternative current) electromagnetic field sources. Do NOT place it against a wall that has a refrigerator, computer, electricity heater, hot water system, TV or meter box on the other side.
– Raise your bed at least 40 cms from the floor to help reduce the electro magnetic field exposure from wiring under the floor
– Do not place mirrors on side walls nor on the foot of your bed – in other words, no mirrors where you could see yourself when lying down
– Avoid fresh plants and fresh flowers in bedrooms.

I stop the No No’s list here, this gives you already a sound idea of what you can easily avoid.

What you scan before you sleep makes your night..
What you scan as you wake up makes your day…
Feng Shui your Bedroom!

de-clutter your wardrobe, equal opportunities for couples, feng shui bed placement, feng shui parents bedroom

You spend a third of your life in bed… A quality sleep in the best possible environment is essential for a life filled with health, love and happiness.

The bedroom is here we relax, rest, regain our strength and intimately share our love with our partner. The position of the bed is important because we unconsciously and constantly scan what surrounds us. This has an amazing impact of our days and night and therefore on our lives.

The ideal building components of your ‘sanctuary for good health’ consists of natural timber, earth and/or stone walls and floors, natural cork, wool/cotton rugs and other natural fabrics, natural paint and/or varnishes, a radiant heat source and plenty of fresh air and ventilation!

Feng Shui Master BedroomFig 1 – Ideal Feng Shui layout for your Master Bedroom

a) For the couple’s bedroom, use equal distances on both sides of the bad to give the partners the same chances in life
b) Keep your bed away from any ‘poison arrows’ such as protruding corners or apparent beams
c) The occupants should have the widest view and should be able to see the bedroom door without having their feet directly in line with the door
d) Place the bed away from any radiation or sources of electromagnetic fields
e) Open your window to replace stale old air with fresh clean air
f) Avoid having your bed head under a window; if no other possibility, have a solid bed head and move your bed one meter away from the window.
Your master bedroom is your Love Sanctuary !

Feng Shui Tips for the Master Bedroom

– Colour code your wardrobe. You will see how much harmony you will bring into the start of your day
– Keep your bedroom clean and uncluttered
– Every season go through your wardrobe and clear out all the clothes that are out of style, too big or too small and give them to charity or put them on E-Bay
– For those in a relationship, place a photo of yourselves enjoying a happy moment or at a special occasion in your life. Please no water (sea, ocean, lake) in that picture/photo as that symbol of water in a bedroom could bring a lack of stability in the couple
– For those single, frae a nice photo of yourself when you are at your best. Look good, feel good; that is what you will create for yourself
– Open your window at night (even a little bit only will help). This is the cheapest way to get fresh air into the room. Some homes become full of stale and dead air especially during winter as heating drives out of consumes the oxygen. good ventilation is essential.

The kitchen contains the most ‘Fire’ element around the house; it is where you prepare and cook meals. The kitchen is also the symbol of health so the position of appliances is important.

Traditional Feng Shui experts pay most attention to the location of the stove being in the ‘power position’ – which means facing the entering Chi. The chef should never be cooking turning his/her back to the Chi or the residents ‘health, wealth and personal relations could suffer.

In this regards, we have 2 different cycles:

1. The logic cycle – Food feeds a person’s health and effectiveness. So the better the food, the more capable the person and the larger his/her potential income… which in turn could well be improving the quality of his/her food.

2. The depressing cycle – The poorer the person, the words the food (generally), so he/she will get into that spiral downhill.

The ideal kitchen is spacious, brightly lit and well ventilated. A stove cramped in a corner will inhibit the cook’s movements and block Chi flow. The stove symbolises the home’s finances. It should be clean and work smoothly (so please check that all burners are in working order). The amount of use of burners can influence the prosperity of the family; the more burners the ore income. When burners are not used, the family is missing out of opportunities and may not prosper as well as they would like.

Feng Shui KitchenFig 1 – Feng Shui layout for your kitchen

a) Clearing clutter everyday is important. Put away any dishes and items that are not used daily
b) A stainless steel or glass splash back can be used to reflect the entering Chi if the stove is not in the power position (as illustrated on Fig 1). Stainless steel appliances could be used to create the same effect.
c) Make sure that all burners are in working order
d) Please leave fridge uncluttered, un-necessary magnets and bills won’t make your day!
e) Keep the work area clean and empty when not in use. The more things are stored away in cupboards, the better Chi will flow.

Enjoying cooking in a happy kitchen puts happiness into your food = Happy family!

NO-NOs for the Kitchen

– Decorating your kitchen or an overhead beam with hanging pots, utensils or empty baskets is not a good idea because they are usually are stagnant and collect dust. They are also considered inauspicious as they create lots of poison arrows and give the impression of a cluttered place.
– Put your knives out of sight as they encourage quarrels in the family.
– Hanging dried flowers or garlic strings = dead plants that would send too much Yin energy; store them instead in cupboards if needed.

GOOD ideas for the Kitchen

– Keeping a well stored refrigerator and pantry symbolises abundance as does a bowl of fresh fruit or vegetables on the kitchen table.
– be happy cooking in your kitchen; please avoid listening or watching the news (they are usually bad news anyway) , avoid depressing pictures, unpaid bills on the fridge door or photos of people or animals who passed away.
– Play harmonious and happy music while cooking so you put good energy into your food too.

feng shui decor in your lounge, feng shui master, feng shui steps, furniture placement, good feng shui position for television, lounge room, roseline deleu

The lounge room is often the first room that you can see when entering therefore its furniture placement is essential. Comfort and hospitality will see cosy cushions and the largest sofa welcoming the guests.

Ideally the living room is where you meet and greet visitors It is where you display your art collections and precious decorations. Be aware that whatever you choose gives clues to visitors about your personality. It might be a good idea to avoid displaying your books in that room as they often reveal who you are. Let people discover you instead! Store books inside cupboards or in your study.

Being in harmony with your space makes your life so much easier, everything flows effortlessly.
A happy home = a happy and successful family.

Step 1 – De-clutter
Step 2 – Look that the placement of furniture and decor are welcoming = good Chi flow
Step 3 – When points 1 and 2 are fulfilled you can then add a Feng Shui cure (also called Chi enhancer) for example: a bunch of fresh flowers OR a symbol of what you wish to achieve in your life OR a wind chime OR a faceted crystal ball OR a whirligig.

Feng Shui Lounge roomFig 1 – Ideal layout for your lounge room

a) An original piece of art is ideal as a focal point of the room
b) Rounded and padded chairs will soften a square room
c) Keep this room ‘free’ from excess of furniture
d) Store the television away from sight as you enter

General Feng Shui tips for the Lounge Room

Whether your lounge area is a formal room or a family gathering area, preferably follow those tips:

– Ask yourself what is the focal point in the room. ice seating or a piece of art is ideal. Avoid having the television as the first thing you see when people enter the room.
– Avoid positioning the seats under an apparent beam. Anyone sitting there may get a headache or feel upset with no apparent reason.
– Encourage fresh flowers, they refresh the energy. Sadly, dried flowers hold stagnation and are best avoided.
– the lounge room would have the best and most attractive view and the sunniest aspect.
– A seating arrangement representing the octagon will create a strong Chi vortex that will enhance your life
– Avoid guns, swords and weapons in view as they generate negative energy. Place them instead inside cupboards so they don’t create quarrels.
– Use your imagination to harmonise the 5 elements
– Yin energy will be achieved with rugs or carpet; Yang with tiles or floorboards.
