” – Firstly, I’d like to thank you for your monthly predictions and all the precious time you are putting into posts that you publish for all of us!
I have just read in one of my old Feng Shui books not to put portraits facing front door. Here, we have a family portrait in front of our door location and it feels so right to have it there. Our family is happy.
I’d love to hear your views on this. Best wishes – B.Y. -“

Photo de familleThank you for your email and your question B.Y.! I always welcome emails with queries as they become a post and explanations for others.

There are many books and sometimes authors will have experienced some situations that they illustrate as examples in their book.

As a rule of thumb, many people have family photos in their entry, sometimes on the entry table in the foyer. This is usually welcoming.
Family PortraitsSeldom people would have just one portrait staring at visitors when they enter, that could be what the author of your book might have meant.

I’m not sure which arguments the author puts in his book in regards to other family photos facing the door, maybe in some cases, the family could then be too exposed.

You are telling me that your family photo feels right to have displayed facing your door, that’s good.

Keep in mind that most of the books give broad guidance and this is not replacing a Feng Shui consultation. I know that you work very intuitively, so, would you feel that your family is too exposed then you know what to do.

Hope this helps. Kind regards,

Roseline Deleu
