Mirrors are too often consider as the Feng Shui ‘aspirin’. When something doesn’t see to go as we want… we place a mirror! Aouch! Aouch ! Aouch 😦 this could be far from ideal!!!

Here a FEW suggestions (many more suggestions exist of course, these ones will get you started)

GOOD placement:

  1. YES: in a dark spot where light (in the mirror) can be reflected and thus will lighten the room
  2. YES: on the wall where your grid has a missing area
  3. YES: when it reflects something nice for ex. a fresh bunch of flowers

WRONG placement:

  1. NO: not in your main entry reflecting your door (Chi comes in and goes out immediately)
  2. NO: not reflecting stair cases (as illustrated in the photo above) – this would encourage too many UPs and DOWNs in life!
  3. NO: absolute NO when mirror reflects clutter and/or broken items

AVOID mirrors in bedrooms – so, if you can’t sleep, cover them at night and feel the difference for yourself.

deceased estateHave you ever felt frustrated seeing all the stuff you (or others) accumulated?

From today onward, look into and apply in your daily lives these 2 suggestions:

a) when you want to purchase something, ask yourself if you REALLY NEED it
c) clean up your belongings regularly – at the start of each month for example, one cupboard at the time.

You will feel lighter and your life will flow better.

We need very little to be happy: Nature, good family & friends, great food, comfortable shelter and laughter. That’s what you can call Abundance!

Floods & Material Possessions

clutter, feng shui steps, floods, live with the minimum

after the floodsRecently I went to visit a friend where floods hit here in Australia a couple of weeks ago. He lives near a river and during the floods… he lived IN the river!

Wind (Feng) and Water (Shui) are powerful as well as all the other Elements we encounter in Nature!

overflow of clutterI am always amazed to see how much stuff people put downstairs in their garages (and never use) – all what is illustrated in the side picture got lost in the floods of one family only – as in this village (known for regular floods) inhabitants can only live on the top floor. Imagine how much has been dumped for the whole village !

It made me think… how much these people are going to buy now and loose next year again (they had a flood last year too)…

And you… how much overstock of un-necessary items do you have around your place? Floods and Fire make you reconsider your life priorities. Material possessions are only important for the JOY they give you.

Someone else’s Stuff

clutter, feel better, feeling down, old memories, stagnant energy in feng shui, stored items, stuff

Your depressed girlfriend asked you to take care of her belongings while she is in rehab. Since your displayed her favourite painting, you too start feeling sad and depressed. You look closer and realise that the picture shows a crying lady in a neglected room. Immediately, you wrap it carefully and store it in your garage, out of sight, out of mind… you start feeling better!

Have another outlook on your life and see how much is hidden in your place. Ask yourself how much ‘stuff’ of others you keep or store for them at home? How much of everyone else is subtly cluttering your place? Start caring and respecting yourself – clean and clear up! Ask them to collect their items and start living your life again.

Find inside your home the hidden darkness, remove it, clear its energies and welcome your light again. When your environment is surrounded with your personal objects filled with good memories, you feel well and happy.

Many of us enjoy browsing in pre-loved shops in search for a good bargain! Keep in mind that the 2nd hand goods are carrying subtle energies, storing memories of their previous owners, their moods, their vibrations, their energies, their laughter, their joy too of course! Displaying pre-loved items in your home will have an impact on your life; so follow the next posts where I will briefly cover second hand: mirrors, furniture, clothes and jewellery.
